I think there's a moral to this story and that's forgiveness. Sure in the moment, the feelings probably hurt and feel overwhelming, but holding on to them doesn't benefit anyone in the long run.

I feel kind of like a moron because I'm not sure what happens to get them separated in this one. 8< Does she get married to someone else? Does she leave? The story is just as sad either way but I'd like to understand precisely what I'm missing.
