When I was a little kid, I saw this Canadian stop motion animation short called "The Owl and the Raven" directed by Co Hoedeman and made by Inuit artists, narrated partially in Inuktitut and in English.

About the legend of how the Owl and the Raven sat in their Iglu, spent their days simply conversing and playing an inuit figure game out of small animal bones and how the Raven (out of an accident) turned himself black.

I'll never forget it.

It was so awesome (to me ^^;;)

IF ANYONE ELSE HAS SEEN OR HEARD OF THIS CARTOON PLEASE TELL ME!!!111

It was great. If you''re into the native ones from the FBC, check out Sumer Legend.

The jealous ookpik and the wax and soot paint one, right? I heard it last winter, but all the different raven tales are blurred together now.

I'm more partial to the tales of the arvitt or aiviq, I'll admit the hunting tales can be depressing, but they've got more impact and truth in them than the stories of vain birds.

:B I r canadian, so yes I've seen it.

and you've done such a wonderful job of capturing the textures of both the owl and the raven's feathers, but keeping it much like traditional Inuit art:heart: so adorable <3

I haven't seen it, but it reminds me of these prints in my grandmother's home.

I really wish I could buy some squishy lithographs to carve on and a printing machine to make some of my own X333

Oooh, lithographs. +_+

I made one once for art class, but I was much too young to make a print of anything decent. XD
