Illustration of this original oneshot fanstory idea for Avatar that I had about the first group of waterbenders and firebenders who did not survive the Siege of the North... among them a waterbender named "Ikiyak" and a firebender named "Yuushin"

...their final moments and feelings of doubt as soldiers before the chaotic battle between them took place, and that...they don't even know that though they are enemies that are going to kill each other in this war, have more in common than they thought. Not intended to be a deep ass generalization on war and peace itself OwO;, but just a story idea for these two characters that I had in mind.

Which I got kind of sad over when I drew it down. (embarrassed)
It spawned from me when I heard the song "Ai no Rinkaku" which is like for me...THE most saddest, haunting sounding anime songs I've ever heard. (and I don't even understand the japanese lyrics) :o

...(The name "Ikiyak" or "Ikkiak" means 'brave' in Inuit...
while the name "Yuushin" coming from the word "Yuushi" also means 'brave' in Japanese)

...:jawdrop: remarkable, it feels like I reading an actual "Avatar" comic. I hope there will be more. This is very good stuff.................and, where exactly is "Ai no Rinkaku" from (inquiring minds want to know!)

*Meow!* (Peace) >^.^<
That is exactly the problem with this kind of stuff; we refuse to think of our enimies as actual people. Sorta ironic somehow, eh? No worries about getting sad while drawing this. I'd have gotten sad too *is just that crazy and emotional*

Wonderful work, as always!

In this order: writing, drawing, singing, breathing.

It's how I live.
Made me kinda sad. I know someone who has been in the Iraq war, and may go back late this year, early next. He's already got a bad back and wakes up at night from nightmares and stuff.

Other than the sad stuff, I love your work. You draw beautifully.

I like this... sadly this is the way people see it, even if they don't believe it. It's hard to think of the enemy as an 'actual' person, rather a monster, and still be able to go into combat with him...

I would like to hear the song, if possible ^^
*sob* That was so sad....................

Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected expected?
.... I'm still rooting for the Water Tribe. *smears war paint on face* Don't wanna die, little Fire Nation soldier? Wanna be able to see that son or girlfriend again? Then don't INVADE OUR LAND! *bitter*

Very beauitful work. I love the entire piece; I love ALL of your Avatar comics! This one is very touching. (Despite my strict loyalty to the Water Tribe, I "get it"... It's just... I'd rather side with the people defending their homeland then the ones doing the invading.) I also really, really like how you give all the random extras from the show such life, and even create your own characters convincingly. LUFF!!!

Amazing. The emotions in this piece are so powerful. In the show, we're shown that the fire nation is simply evil, but I know I've never really thought about the actual civilians, or even the soldiers. They all have families and friends. This shows exactly why we should just stop fighting each other. (lol, as a mush all my words together)

Those two last panels =
