I don't usually get into Shojo anime often, But in the long wait for Avatar, to keep myself occupied fandom wise, I came upon a Taiwanese drama series called "Meteor Garden" online.
I watched it, got addicted, and yearned for more, but unfortunately the episodes were incomplete. So instead I turned to the original Japanese anime version (the manga was later turned into that live action Taiwanese version) called "Hana Yori Dango" and it was like <333 Hana Yori Dango is the story of Makino Tsukushi ["Shan-chai" in the Taiwanese version], a 16 year old girl from the wrong side of the tracks who is a student at Eitoku Gakuen, a very exclusive school that is attended by the richest of society's children. Tsukushi, shy at first, feels uncomfortable and out of place amongst the rich, snobby kids at her school and she cannot wait until the time, two years later, when she will graduate. However despite finding a new friend to talk to at school, Tsukushi's problems at Eitoku take a sudden turn for the worse when she crosses the path of the F4. The F4 are the 4 richest guys at Eitoku Gakuen, and for all intents and purposes, they rule the school. They wander around the campus unchallenged by teacher or student, they flaunt the school dress code by not wearing their uniforms, and never seem to go to class. And trouble starts when she stands up to F4's arrogant and headstrong leader, Doumyouji Tsukasa ["Dao-ming Si" in the Taiwanese version]... [link] Eheh, Did this in mah own "style", LOL I didn't dig Yoko Kamio's style of drawing people (sometimes I'll stare at a scene of how she draws a character's face from a certain angle and I go "eeeee what is that BUT DEAR GOD the story is awesome, the characters and plot pacing are just greatness with a side of fries. Better than Fushigi Yuugi in my opinion. Holy Crap. No lie. Combined features from the cartoon version and features of both actors of the two versions of Doumyouji/Daoming Si (Jerry Yan and Matsumoto Jun) and both actresses of Makino/Shancai (Barbie Hsu and Inoue Mao). |

Overall, the 2005 version was pretty amusing, and GOD! Did Arashi's Wish song get stuck in my head! >.<; I don't like Boy Bands, but some of their songs are addicting! T.T
Hmmm...looking at you drawing a Hana Yori fanart makes me wanna draw one too now...

Draw what moves you.
Of course as a shoujo series, there always the obligatory romantic cheesiness, but this series manages to capture poigniant character development and deep emotion so when I watch it, I feel impressed rather than guilty about squeeing over such a girly series

Draw what moves you.
Bah! Even though I'm not a fan of Shojo stuff, anything that a Dorama bases from a Manga, I'll watch (ok, almost all....there was that AaTantei Jimushou that I didn't like...).
But, woo~ Matsumoto Jun as angsty Domiyoji! XD Big change from when I saw him in Kindaichi Shonen no Jikembo.
