Nakori and Nwekiwi

There once lived two little girls
who were stuck close by each other
like sisters they were.

Playing and running
having adventures in the forest
and making magic

Such fond memories
of those days
from long ago

But one left to go
to a land far away
from her first close best friend.

Years past,
both girls grew up.

the one who left
still continued with her ways

the one who stayed in the forest
grew into a lovely young woman of her tribe

when they were apart,
they both wondered
"I wonder if she's changed now"

when they saw each other again
nervous that the other would be different...

but they both smiled...and laughed
embracing each other
it was like old times once more.

For my rockabilly awesometastic cousin Kathy (and one of my first bestest buddies) in the Philippines, who I practically grew up with.

Kathy just had her 20th birthday ("twenteen years old ") last month! WHOOOHOOO!!!
I haven't seen her for at least five years now, and I only get to talk to her through YM and email and phonecalls. Miss her lots. ;~;

Yes, I could have drawn her something more...mature...something like a generically pretty picture of something girly with lots of detail and flowers and hair and stuff...
but I wanted to make it...more personal... but in such a way I put it in a the fantasy story context that I feel comfortable with...without making it so personal that it would be weird...
It took so long for me to find something I could draw for her that ...'felt' right. Even though it looks cartoony in some ways.... rather than subtle or deep or ufufufufuf

But I'm glad I did draw this.
